About Us
Aperture Consulting Inc. (ACI) is an independent and owner-operated environmental consulting firm specializing in big-picture solutions to environmental challenges and a common sense approach to complex problems. ACI is based in Whitehorse, Yukon and operates across Northern and Western Canada.
We are a team of two professional engineers, Kirsten Hogan (M.Sc. Eng, P.Eng) and Tim Hogan (P.Eng.), each with greater than 20 years of experience in the environmental field. ACI offers dedicated, responsive project staff that are involved in all aspects of each project that we undertake. We are a dynamic company that has successfully completed projects ranging in size from small Phase I ESAs to management of multi-million dollar, long term remediation projects.
Kirsten Hogan, P.Eng, M.Sc.(Eng)
Kirsten has more than 20 years of experience in contaminated sites monitoring and management across western and northern Canada. In addition to soil and groundwater investigation and remediation, her work in the environmental field has included greenhouse gas quantification, carbon footprint analysis and reduction, energy planning and climate adaptation. Kirsten earned her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Engineering at the University of Guelph. She has served Engineers Yukon in a variety of volunteer positions, serving as President from 2021-2023. Outside of her professional career, Kirsten is an active volunteer in the Whitehorse community, and enjoys the beautiful Yukon wilderness as often as possible with her family and friends.
Tim Hogan, P.Eng
Tim has greater than 20 years of experience in Environmental Engineering, with a focus on environmental site assessment and contaminated sites management. He is known to clients and colleagues as a hard working and responsible engineer with his client’s best interests in mind. Tim’s strengths include the ability to organize, manage and interpret large volumes of data, a passion for accuracy in detailed work, and the ability to provide simple solutions to complex problems. Tim is a Professional Engineer registered in Alberta and the Yukon, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Guelph.
